Painful shoulder

The shoulder is a structure of particular complexity that under efficient conditions moves through the combined action of its many muscle bundles. Anchor points with the back and anteriorly with the chest secure the scapula and humerus in the correct anatomical location.

Disequilibria between these joints caused by repetitive work or previous trauma can lead to joint imbalances and generate tendon inflammation, cause spontaneous pain or difficulty already in ordinary movements.

Subacromial conflict, insertional tendinopathies, capsulitis, periarthritis, and biceps long head pain are just some of the major pathologies that can account for the state of pain

Major differential diagnoses:

Insertional tendinopathies and calcifications, tendon tears, subacromial conflict and bursitis, humeral SLAP, inflammatory arthritis.
